Analysis: The good news is a CT scan taken at a local hospital showed nothing abnormal and Ray was released later Friday night. The All-Star left-hander will miss at least one start while he goes through the concussion protocol, while a firmer return date has yet to be determined.

Analysis: Ray was knocked out in the second when Luke Voit's 108.1 mph liner struck him in the back of the head. After about two minutes, Ray was able to sit up. He was carted off the field and taken to a hospital, where three sutures were put into his head to close the wound. Ray returned to the team hotel after showering in the visitors' locker room.

Ray was helped up and then driven off the field on a cart for examination.
Analysis: Ray threw 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit, one walk and two strikeouts.

Analysis: Ray's strikeout of Scott Schebler in the fourth inning was the 500th strikeout of Ray's career. He is the 10th active pitcher and third left-hander to reach 500 strikeouts in 82 or fewer games. Walks have again become somewhat of an issue for Ray of late, though. He has 24 in his last six starts.

Analysis: The first-time All-Star tied a career high with his 13 Ks, reaching double digits for the sixth time this season. He's fourth in the majors with 141 strikeouts but also ranks third with 52 walks, including 21 in his last five outings. Yet, he's given up no more than two runs in seven of his past nine starts.

He'll face a tough challenge against another NL West contender on Thursday, though, as he's matched up against the undefeated Alex Wood in a visit to Dodger Stadium.

Analysis: Ray wasn't as dominating as he's been in some recent starts but still improved to 6-0 with a 1.29 ERA over his last seven outings. He next takes the ball Friday at home versus the Rockies. In his only start of the season against Colorado on April 28, Ray yielded three runs, five hits and three walks in 6.2 innings in a 3-1 home loss. He is 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in four career home starts against the Rockies, serving up seven homers in 21.2 innings.

Everything is feeling really good. It's almost just get the ball back and whatever (sign) they throw down, I'm comfortable."
